Liza Hoffman, MSW, LICSW is a clinical social worker and clinical director of the digital psychiatry division, in the Department of Psychiatry at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a Harvard Medical School affiliated teaching hospital. She attended the Simmons College School of Social Work and after completing her master’s degree joined the Primary Care Behavioral Health Integration Program at Cambridge Health Alliance. Alongside her clinical work, Liza spearheaded a 3 year initiative to evaluate and disseminate mental health mobile apps for use within routine clinical care. Now as clinical director of the BIDMC digital psychiatry division, she is creating new delivery models for technology-supported psychiatric care and implementing evidence-based digital health interventions for both academic and community mental health systems. To increase digital access and inclusion, Liza leads digital health literacy training programs for individuals with serious mental illness and presents nationally on best practices for enhancing clinical care through smartphone technology.
