The mindLAMP smartphone and wearable applications for iOS and Android are associated with the Division of Digital Psychiatry at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center & Harvard Medical School, led by Dr. John Torous, MD MBI.

We partner with Zco Corporation, a New Hampshire-based engineering firm, but encourage collaboration from partners around the world through our open source project codebase. All code and assets are approved and vetted by the Division of Digital Psychiatry before the application is modified and submitted to App Stores.

NIMHANS in Bangalore, India, is using mindLAMP for monitoring, personalizing, & predicting treatment response to non-invasive brain stimulation, supporting patients with substance abuse disorder, predicting relapse in SMI.

 Boston University is using mindLAMP for the assessment of cognition and context in young adults as well as individuals with Parkinson’s disease with the goal of improving clinical diagnosis and personalized interventions. Several studies are ongoing and new ones planned.

CSU Northridge is using mindLAMP to augment data collection for longitudinal studies of smartphone-related cognition and behavior to assess whether higher levels of automaticity (mindless, impulsive use) during the prior phone usage predict lower levels of present mood

 Shanghai Mental Health leveraged mindLAMP’s open-source platform to create BrainSmart and investigate whether interactive technology is able to enhance cognitive function of patients at clinical risk for psychosis. Over 100 people are in the study.

The University of Ottawa is investigating the validity of mindLAMP in assessing cognition in individuals with a mental illness. While preliminary, their findings suggest that mindLAMP can be used to assess cognitive impairments in individuals with a mental illness.

BIDMC Anesthesiology is using mindLAMP to understand the feasibility of using electronic-based educational and assessment system around different anesthetic options available prior to surgery, patient engagement, and shared decision making within surgical teams.

BIDMC Neurology is using mindLAMP to investigate longitudinal changes in cognition among individuals with Parkinson's disease. Leveraging the ability to track cognitive changes recorded by the app, they hope to predict early warning signs of dementias
